My elderly mother ordered a sweater on the Norm Thompson web site. She clicked through the shopping cart, they offered a 15% discount, and she clicked on that.

The sweater came in the mail no problem. I checked her credit card statement today, 10 months after she made the order, and discovered that Norm Thompson VIP club has been charging my mother $14.97 a month for the last 9 months to be in their saving club (the first month was $1.99). For ONE sweater. I called them, they offered only 3 months back.

I stuck to my guns and they are refunding the full amount for the past 10 months. Time will tell whether or not they actually refund it.

Reviewer is in unhappy mood. This person is quite happy with sweater and stated that there is a room for improvement of shady business practices. Please immediately contact the author of this review to discuss "shady business practicies" of sweater and associated monetary loss in the amount of $137. Norm Thompson needs to issue a full refund according to poster's claims.

Other people also mentioned sweater in their reviews. You may find this information helpful for further shopping at Norm Thompson.

This is something alot of companies are now doing. They know people click thru the ordering process hurriedly and thus miss the part where you are automatically enrolled in these things unless you remove the check mark, etc.

Hope you get the money back, but tell mom to read everything thoroughly before clicking on order. By the way, probably time to keep a closer eye on the dear lady and her finances---from my own experience with mom and pop.
